I made this study last week  looking at the tulips in the sun. I decided to use the translucent dyes I have that I usually use on fabric because the colours are so vibrant. Pencil marks were made on top when the dye was dry. I love the resistance you get on the handmade paper surface. You can really press hard with a soft pencil.

I made this little drawing yesterday. Always casting around for stuff to draw, never desperately, but just liked the coat and scarf on the back of the door so drew that. I enjoyed it even though haven’t been feeling 100% it’s good just to keep doing something. It’s as is if whatever wants to be drawn lights up.

I gradually completed this study over the past few days. Unsure as to whether or not to add colour I consulted two friends for feedback, they said definitely add colour. So this is the result. I think it adds to the notion of living to have the colour. You have to be really confident with the indian ink as mistakes can’t be erased! Have just completed this study of a new cactus or succulent that I bought to replace one I overwatered. It seems to be thriving which is great and I haven’t watered it yet. I love how it seems to glow. Click  to  enlarge.
